Nine Steps to Reduce you Body Burden

Lifestyle matters when it comes to energy, mobility, digestion and brain health. The choices you make everyday about what you put in and on your body and how you manage your life do make a difference.  It is not about one specific food, beauty product, cleaning product or lifestyle choice, it is the combination of factors that put burden on a body and create dis-ease.

Total Body Burden
Imagine your body as a vase . Your lifestyle choices like stress ,toxins for food choices etc continuously pour liquid into this vase .
If the input exceeds the body's capacity, it overflows. This overflow can overwhelm the body's detoxification mechanisms, leading to various health issues such as autoimmune diseases, high blood pressure, diabetes, dementia, or cancer.

By adopting a healthier lifestyle and reducing the influx of toxins, you can prevent the overflow. This allows the body to detoxify more efficiently and promotes healing. However, each person has a different threshold for toxic overload, influenced by genetics, dietary habits, and lifestyle choices. Therefore, understanding and addressing your individual toxic tipping point is crucial for maintaining optimal health.
I call this living above the wellness line !

Become A Label Detective
Read the labels on all the products you put in your body, on your body and use around your home today.   You will be shocked at the number of chemicals you are exposed to.  Many chemicals are considered GRAS (generally regarded as safe) in small amounts but government agencies do not test for multiple or repeated exposure. Many of these chemicals come with warnings as allergens, endocrine disrupters, potential carcinogens, or other side effects.  If you can’t eat it (and this means cleaners too!), you should not be using it. Choose organic foods and plant-based beauty products and household cleaners whenever possible.

Reduce Inflammatory Foods
Certain foods are known to be more inflammatory in the body. These include processed sugars, omega 6 oils, packaged or processed foods and a list of others.  Side effects of these foods include digestive disorders, joint pain, inflammation, brain fog and all over mobility issues. Learning how different foods effect your body is key to better health.  Using an elimination diet can be one strategy to help understand what foods affect your body and how.

Incorporate Stress Management
Stress management is so important to keeping a body healthy. Exercise is one part of stress management and supports healthy blood flow which helps move both red and white blood cells, as well as, vitamins and minerals to help keep you healthy. White blood cells are responsible for immune function, specifically attacking invaders. Exercise also releases powerful endorphins, which are the body’s “feel good” hormones. Producing endorphins along with burning excess cortisol (a stress hormone), makes exercise great for stress management. Managing stress is imperative to a healthy lifestyle. Stress can lead to a weakened immune system, heart disease, inflammation or worse. There are so many non toxic and easy ways to support your adrenal system, lower your cortisol levels and reduce your stress.
Some of my favorite things I do to manage my stress is sing ,garden, cook craft or listen to music !
Adopt a "Non-Negotiable" Attitude
Not everyone can (or maybe is willing!) to swap out their products for clean, nontoxic alternatives.  Adopting a Non-Negotiable Policy can help! That means switching the items you put in and, on your body, or products you use to clean your house or wash your clothes repeatedly. These include soaps, shampoo/conditioners, toothpaste/mouthwash, deodorant, body lotion, makeup, sun screen and bug repellent, household cleaners and laundry products . You use these items daily, sometimes multiple times. They are often loaded with phalates, parabens , aluminum, lead, bismuth, synthetic toxic chemicals and dyes. Many of these can cause harm to the body in small amounts. Repeat exposure is where toxic load (body burden) comes into play.

Ditch and Switch Chemical Cleaning Products
Manufacturers are banned from using only 12 chemicals in the production of the products they make. A manufacturer must follow guidelines for usage and is solely responsible for safety testing. Products are not tested by the FDA before being sold. Research the chemicals in one of your present cleaners.  How do can they affect your body?  Many chemicals have warnings that will scare you!  Ditch and switch to plant-based products. Use only companies that can prove they have no harmful chemicals. Don’t be fooled by all the green washing – marketing labels like all-natural, green, safe to use, environmentally safe, etc. There are no standards for using these labels

Check EMF Exposure
Electromagnetic frequencies from cell phones, computers, internet, mobile phones, microwave ovens, blue tooth, etc. are thought to be the new smoking gun of degrading health.  Research is indicating that certain people are badly affected by these man-made frequencies. Symptoms might include brain fog, fatigue, dizziness, forgetfulness, and even cellular damage. Learn how to protect against these frequencies.

Say "NO" To Poor Quality Vitamins and Supplements
Vitamins and supplementation play a role in maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The key is using quality products. Just like when buying food, a car or clothing – you get what you pay for! The difference is that poor quality vitamins can actually cause more harm than good and give you a false security thinking you are giving your body what it needs to stay well! I recommend always  using a plant-based products whenever possible.  Look for chelated minerals or those that have been shown to be more bio-available than the mass-produced isolate products found at local grocery stores and drug stores. Even specialty stores or health care professionals may carry product lines that are expensive but not the best quality. I would be happy to share what my family takes and why!

Clean Filtered Water
Clean filtered water supports healthy hydration, which helps your body function at its best and can benefit energy, digestion, circulation, and overall wellness. It can also help reduce exposure to unwanted contaminants, giving you greater peace of mind about the water you and your family drink each day. Many people also find that filtered water tastes and smells better, making it easier to drink more consistently and maintain healthy hydration habits.

Woman's hands in prayer during meditation
Daily prayer, meditation, mindfulness, and exercise
Daily prayer, meditation, mindfulness, and exercise work together to support a healthy mind, body, and spirit by creating space for reflection, reducing stress, and building physical strength and emotional balance. Prayer can bring comfort, guidance, and a deeper sense of purpose, while meditation and mindfulness help calm the mind, improve focus, and encourage living in the present moment. Regular exercise strengthens the body, boosts energy, and supports mental well-being by releasing tension and improving mood. When practiced consistently, these daily habits can help create a more centered, peaceful, and resilient life.
